I fell in love with photography when my godmother gifted me a Cub Scout Brownie when I was 12 years old. At 19 I rediscovered it when a friend told me… "You know what? You'd make a good photographer." It became my calling and I've followed the development of imaging and technology throughout a 40+ years in the publishing business.
As a graphic designer, I produced a number of interactive “e-books” for others on the subject of digital photography and another that teaches English. I've also designed a few memorable web sites such as the “phenomenal” mrwinkle.com and oceanmist.com with almost 200 pages of information about growing artichokes and other veggies.
In 1993 I started working with photographers and artists to do Fine Art limited edition reproductions to allow greater distribution of their work. The technology has transformed the archival capabilities of photography to allow for the preservation of images to over 150 years.
I have worked with some well-known photographers including Lydia Clarke Heston for over 16 years and Steven Poster for over 6 years. I digitize, retouch, catalog and do archival printing of their work and help them mount shows for exposition around the country. With my background, I am very sensitive to what can be extracted from their images so that a level of magnificence and a “sense of presence” is expressed in their work. These images can be “felt” when they are viewed.
